"The City of Brotherly Love" was overflowing with affection for Pete Rose when he helped bring home the long-suffering franchise's first World Series championship in 1980. Philadelphia's love for Rose stayed strong throughout his five seasons in a Phillies uniform, and for those who watched him play, the feelings are still sharp after all these years. "Phils Phans" can keep the faith with this sacred Pete Rose signed 1981 game-used bat.

Though the 1981 season was interrupted by a lengthy mid-season strike, it was a fantastic year for Rose. The "Hit King" batted .300+ for the 15th and final time of his prolific career. On 8/10/81, Rose notched career hit No. 3,631 to pass Stan Musial as the all-time NL hits leader.

From a truly historic milestone season, this Mizuno model number "R3631" bat was labeled on the barrel in anticipation of Rose breaking Musial's record. Located on the barrel, above the model number, is a facsimile Rose autograph, which has been trace enhanced, likely by Rose himself. Rose has signed ("6.5") below the model number, and he has included the personalized inscription "To Tony Best Wishes To A Great Guy."

Substantial authentic use is evidenced by ball contact marks, cleat impressions, a handle crack, and traces of tape residue. Furthermore, the barrel has been sanded, which is a well-known Rose characteristic. The accompanying full LOA from John Taube-PSA/DNA provides a game use grade of (GU 8). Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA for the autograph. Opening Bid $500.
