A great career is chronicled with this bundle of (50) 1950s-1980s photographs from the personal collection of Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson. Winner of 16 consecutive Gold Glove awards from 1960-1975, Brooks has a legitimate claim on being the best defensive third baseman the game has ever seen. Provided by a variety of news services, these photos are mostly 8x10s, though a few are smaller. While a handful are images of others, including basketball legend Bill Russell in a USF uniform, the great majority are of Robinson in action with his only MLB team, the Baltimore Orioles. Among the more interesting photos, are (3) 5x7s of Robinson in action, with his high school basketball team. Condition ranges (VG to EX+) for the most part, with a few better, and a few lesser. The accompanying LOA from a previous sale in 2015 is signed by Robinson, and concludes with the statement “I hereby attest that the above listed lot derives from my personal collection."
