Throughout the many years of baseball history, only a select few have been named captain of the New York Yankees. After Lou Gehrig was bestowed with the honor in 1935, it was another forty years before another captain was chosen. Gritty play, timely hitting, and his determined spirit, earned Thurman Munson this high honor in 1976. Tragically, Munson's tenure as team captain came to a premature halt in 1979 when he died in a private plane crash near his home in Akron, Ohio. Add Munson's considerably tough and greatly prized autograph to your collection with this single-signed index card. This neatly applied ballpoint pen signature is encapsulated by PSA/DNA, with an autograph grade of (NM-MT 8).

Opening Bid $250.
