Score a tough Hall of Famer autograph with this Ray Schalk single-signed baseball. The starting catcher for the 1919 "Black Sox," Schalk was considered too honest for the gamblers to approach him in regards to throwing the 1919 World Series. Schalk's demise in 1970 long precedes the era of lining up for autographs at sports memorabilia shows, and along with his induction to the Hall of Fame in 1955, this makes his autograph a serious target. The offered baseball is a vintage example, stamped "Chicago White Sox." Schalk has signed on the preferred sweet spot sometime during the 1950s-1960s, and his autograph reports as a ("6.5") example. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA. Opening Bid $300.
