Eddie Murray ended his amazingly consistent Hall of Fame career as one of just seven sluggers to rack up both 500+ home runs and 3,000+ base hits. Claim what may be the finest example of a Murray game-used bat with this 1977-1979 Louisville Slugger. During the defined labeling period, Murray won the AL Rookie of the Year award in 1977, was named an All-Star in 1978, and went to the 1979 World Series with the AL pennant-winning Baltimore Orioles.

Turned by Hillerich & Bradsby, this ash bat is a W248 model, with a facsimile Murray autograph burned into the barrel, and Murray’s player number “33” written on the knob by means of a black marker. The accompanying LOA assigns a game use grade of PSA/DNA (GU 9.5) and describes the use as “outstanding with a handle crack that has been secured, and numerous ball marks on all sides of the barrel." Also noted are white leather scuffs, cleat marks and bat rack streaks on the barrel; along with four tape rings and a moderate coat of pine tar on the handle. It’s going to be very tough to top this vintage Murray rookie-era gamer, blessed with a superior PSA/DNA grade certification.  Full LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA. Opening Bid $1,500.
