Suit up with the “Hit King” when you bring home this 1981 Pete Rose game-used Philadelphia Phillies road jersey. Coming off the first World Series championship in Phillies history in 1980, Rose batted .325 while wearing this classic jersey during a season split by a lengthy strike. Fronted with a smoothly functioning zipper, this powder-blue jersey shows ample use and bears correct labeling. Located on the left front tail are a Wilson size “44” factory label and an “81 1” tag for year and uniform set number. The Phillies “P” logo resides on the left breast, and Rose’s player number “14” occupies the right breast. The name “Rose” is stitched in cursive on a tag inside the collar, and his name and number are seen in patches on the back. With 52 games played on the road during the strike-shortened ‘81 season, this high profile gamer likely saw action in about half of those games. Though fielding a very talented top-to-bottom roster, the Phillies bowed out of the postseason in consecutive seasons with losses in the NLCS from 1976-1978. After signing Rose as the game’s highest paid free agent in 1979, the Phils won their first ever World Series in 1980 with “Charlie Hustle” fitting in like a much needed spark plug. LOA from Phil Wood.

Opening Bid $1,200.
