Make the "Cinderella Man" your collecting plan, with this 1925 James J. Braddock signed government postcard. As a 10-1 underdog, Braddock upset Max Baer in a 1935 fight, to earn the heavyweight boxing championship. Braddock's nobility and dedication inspired director Ron Howard's 2005 film "Cinderella Man", posthumously returning Braddock to national attention. While battling in the amateur ranks of boxing, just days before his 20th birthday, Braddock (d.1974) granted the offered autograph. Located on the back of a GPC postmark dated 6/4/25, Braddock's signature is a proud ("9") strength example, accompanied by the personalized salutation "Good luck to you George". The opposite side of the card, with the recipient's address, and the post office cancellation stamp, bears adhesive residue on the corners, though the writing, and pre-printed stamp remain distinct. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. Opening Bid $50.
