Few pro football players can match the bragging rights of Dante "Gluefingers" Lavelli. A Hall of Fame receiver for the Cleveland Browns from 1946-1956, Lavelli finished in first place during the first ten of his eleven pro seasons, winning all four AAFC championships, and then playing in six straight NFL championship games, with three wins. Lavelli's pride in his famous nickname is readily noted, with this selection of (100) signed checks, which date from 1994-2000.
The Hall of Fame end typically made it a point to include a "Gluefingers" inscription with his autograph over the years, and he went so far as to have the moniker printed on his bank checks, though he stopped short of including it with his endorsement line signatures. Located at the customary position of bottom right on front of the offered checks, Lavelli's endorsements range 8 to 10 in strength. While the checks are generally appealing, all have the account numbers redacted, and one has a tape repair. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. Opening Bid $50.
