Had the Rookie of the Year Award been around at the time, Joe DiMaggio and Tommy Henrich would have been strong candidates. As a New York Yankees rookie in 1936, DiMaggio racked up a very impressive total of 88 extra-base hits. While Henrich's playing time during his 1937 debut campaign with Yankees was limited, he did finish with a .320 batting average, and an outstanding .419 on-base percentage. These promising young stars are seen here in a 1937 Acme Newspictures Type I photo with a "Class of '36 & '37" caption attached. This gorgeous 6x8 photo is restricted to an (EX-MT) rating due to minor wear on the top right and bottom left corners, affecting the white border only. The image area is unaffected, and otherwise this crisp photo is stunning, with a bright, clean, and glossy surface. As the caption indicates, this shot was staged to present DiMaggio and Henrich as the Yankees most promising new players of 1936 and 1937 respectively. Noted on the reverse side is the credit stamp "Acme Newspictures, Inc. Chicago Bureau, Tribune Tower, Chicago ILL.".

Opening Bid $100.
