A fantastic opportunity is at hand, with this Mickey Mantle signed 1951 New York Yankees program. From early on in Mantle's rookie season, this program lists him as #6, pre-dating his demotion to Kansas City, and his return to New York as #7. The scorecard section is recorded for a game versus the Washington Senators, on 4/29/51 at Yankee Stadium. Mantle is listed as the Yankees lead-off man, and he went 0/3 on the day, with a walk and a run scored. Yankees ace Ed Lopat blanked the Senators for a 4-0 win, and Phil Rizzuto provided the fireworks, going 2/3, with a homer, double, 3 RBI, and a run. Mantle has signed ("8.5") on the program's front cover, by means of a blue felt-tip marker. The program is fairly solid, showing VG+ details, with deference to a small section being torn off the back cover. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA. Opening Bid $250.
