Though he had little choice in the matter, Harry Frazee's sale of Babe Ruth to the Yankees has to be the worst move in the history of baseball. Still struggling financially, Frazee sent most of his best players to New York shortly after the Ruth sale, leading to a prolonged downturn for the once mighty Red Sox. For Jacob Ruppert and his Yankees, Ruth paid off immediate dividends, packing American League stadiums. The principals in the Ruth deal come into play, with this Frazee signed 1921 Boston Red Sox season pass. Made to "Col. Jacob Ruppert and Party", this antique pass "No. 75" presents handsomely. Sporting a regal design, this heavy stock card bears the legend "Boston American League Base Ball Club", with a proud eagle in an oval inset. Frazee's signature projects ("8.5") strength, and the pass reports in outstanding condition, with bold graphics and lettering, and clean surfaces front and back. As noted at bottom, this high quality pass was made by the "American Bank Note Co. Boston", a famous printer of paper money for many different nations. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
