Prior to 1961, the current Minnesota Twins were the Washington Senators. While stationed in Washington from 1901-1960, the franchise finished first three times, second five times, and spent most of the rest of the time mired in the "second division". One of their best seasons is recalled, with this 1933 American League Champion Washington Senators team-signed baseball. A 1932-1933 OAL/Harridge model, this ancient orb hosts (12) period autographs that are detectable, with (11) Senators players, and bomp ba-ba bomp...."Babe" Ruth. All of the signers have moved on to the "Field of Dreams" anywhere from 30 to 75 years ago, and there are some very interesting names among the Senators contingent, such as Moe Berg, Earl Whitehill, and player-manager Joe Cronin. The Reach factory labeling stamps are somewhat faded, but retain sufficient integrity for positive identification. The visible autographs range ("4" to "6") in potency, and there are traces of other signatures which are too faint to distinguish. Sluggers Joe Cronin and Joe Kuhel had monster years at the plate, and hurlers "General" Crowder and Earl Whitehill finished first and third in wins, pacing this high-powered squad to its first place finish, seven games in front of the mighty New York Yankees.

Featured signers are:

Hall of Famers: "Babe" Ruth ("5", d.1948), Joe Cronin (d.1984);

Keys: Moe Berg ("4-5", d.1972), Fred Schulte (d.1983), Monte Weaver (d.1994);

Other notables: Ossie Bluege (d.1985), Cliff Bolton (d.1979);

Traced signatures: Johnny Kerr (d.1993), "General" Crowder (d.1972), Earl Whitehill (d.1954), Joe Kuhel (d.1984), "Goose" Goslin (HOF, d.1971).
