Washington Redskins free safety Sean Taylor was showing a lot promise, before he died from a home invasion gunshot wound sustained on 11/26/07. The #5 overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, Taylor had made it to the Pro Bowl in 2006, and he was a posthumous Pro Bowl selection in 2007. The Redskins honored Taylor in several ways, including fielding only ten defensive players at the start of their first game after Taylor’s death, on 12/2/07 against the Buffalo Bills.

Another remembrance took place to mark the one-year anniversary of Taylor’s death, on 11/30/08 versus the NY Giants at FedExField. During the player introductions, Redskins running back Clinton Portis led the team onto the field, carrying an enormous flag with Taylor’s number 21 on it. That very same flag surfaces here. Sized at a colossal 47x72”, this burgundy and gold banner is mounted on a 72” pole, and presents in excellent condition. Portis has signed on one of the number “1” patches, and though his jumbo-sized autograph is affected by moderate ink migration, it still presents (“8”) strength. Accompanying, is a COA from the Washington Redskins dated 11/30/08, which states “Portis autograph 21 flag used in player intro vs. NY”. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA for the autograph.
