Heavy hitter Harmon Killebrew makes his mark on the collecting world, with this autographed and inscribed game-used bat. From the looks of it, “The Killer” made plenty of marks against opposing pitchers with this H&B Louisville Slugger Model S207 bat. Numerous ball contact marks, white leather scuffs, and other streaks cover the barrel, and grain swelling is noted on the barrel back. The handle bears a light coating of pine tar, and the model number is impressed into knob, with Killebrew’s uniform number “3” written over it in black marker. Killebrew has signed on the barrel in an ideal location, with 8-9 potency by means of a black felt-tip pen, and he has included the inscriptions “573 H.R.’s, H.O.F. ‘84”. During the period of use, the Minnesota Twins slugger recorded his last 40-homer season in 1970, and made his final postseason appearance that same year. Citing outstanding use, and identifiable player use characteristics, the accompanying full photo LOA from PSA/DNA assigns a game use grade of GU 6, and also notes post player use. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA for the autograph. Opening Bid $750.
