With its talent pool severely drained by the demands of WWII, Major League Baseball put on a brave face, and kept up with the tradition of the "Midsummer Classic", in all but the 1945 season. Remember the sacrifices of this challenging time, with this 1944 MLB All-Star Game program. Held on 7/11/44 at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh, this main stage event still managed to showcase several future Hall of Famers, with Stan Musial, Bobby Doerr, Mel Ott, "Ducky" Medwick, and Hal Newhouser. The offered program remains sturdy, reporting in solid Vg condition, with a tight spine, unused scoring grids, and a vibrant, patriotic cover. Though more of the boys were back in 1945, the All-Star Game was cancelled that year due to travel restrictions.
