In the fall of 1926, Rogers Hornsby was dubbed the "Miracle Man" for guiding the St. Louis Cardinals to their first World Championship in franchise history. To commemorate that achievement, the St. Louis Button Company issued this attractive pinback, which features a portrait image of Hornsby in uniform, with his name printed along the base of his image. The words "Miracle" and "Man" appear on either side of his portrait. This pin can be found in two distinct sizes, and the offered example is the rarer large-format version measuring 2.25 inches in diameter. The original St. Louis Button Company paper label is intact on the reverse. This is a very rare pin and one of only a handful known. Opening Bid $500.
