Baseball meets politics, with this Richard Nixon and Ted Williams dual-signed Washington Senators program. Issued for the Senators 1970 season opener on April 6th, this vintage program (VG) features the caption "Our No. 1 Fan", next to an illustration of sitting president Nixon, who arrived in the 5th inning of the game. A hero on the diamond, and in war, Ted Williams was brave enough to take on the job of managing the usually woeful Senators, guiding them to the franchise's only winning season of its Washington tenure, before moving to Texas. "Teddy Ballgame" is also depicted on the front cover, along with slugger Frank Howard and others. Williams and Nixon have signed above their images, with both autographs registering as ("8") strength examples. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
Opening Bid $200.
