Jack Johnson began fighting in 1897 at the age of 19, and he kept appearing in the ring until 1931, at the age of 53. He didn't lose a whole lot along the way, and from 1906-1925 through 40 fights, he lost just once, but it was a big one. On 4/5/1915, he met Jess Willard in the ring at Oriental Park in Havana, Cuba. A late bloomer, who didn't start boxing until he was 27 years old, Willard stopped Johnson in the 26th round, of a scheduled 45-rounder, to claim the world heavyweight title.

This famous KO is recalled, with this 1915 dated real photo postcard from Cuba. Now more than a hundred years old, this antique postcard still shows (VG) quality. The obverse features a photo of the "Pottawatomie Giant" standing over Johnson, who is seen down on the canvas, with the ref counting him out. Printed below the gripping obverse photo, is the caption "Gran Match de Boxeo, Habana 1915. - La caida fatal", which translates to "Grand Boxing Match, Havana 1915, the fatal fall". The unused reverse is printed with "Republica de Cuba", and "Imp. Compostela 121".
