“Old-Time Hockey” skates in, with these (2) art tiles. Created back in the days of the NHL’s “Original Six”, these dynamic 6x6 ceramic tiles feature New York Rangers stars Dave Balon and Harry Howell. Graced with artwork by H.M. Cowan, who is credited on the fronts, these vintage souvenirs were intended for concession stand sales, but reportedly never came to market. Both are outfitted with eyelet wall hanging hoops on the backs, which are covered in cork, suggesting they could also be used as trivets. The cork backings are stamped with “Screenart Products LTD., Made in Canada”, and both tiles come with original factory boxes, with the player’s names written on them. The Howell tile has a minute glaze chip near the top right corner, otherwise these vibrant creations present in like-new state.
