For thirteen Major League seasons, the great Joe DiMaggio made innumerable headlines. The "Yankee Clipper" was about as popular as a ballplayer can get, as his fan base stretched from the Atlantic to the Pacific. His widespread fame is testified to, with this 1996 lithograph by Robert Stephen Simon. Titled "Joe DiMaggio Legacy", this large and in charge limited edition print is formatted collage style, recreating newspaper headlines and magazine covers from his active playing days. DiMaggio has signed ("8") on the bottom border at right, and he has included the inscription "Yankee Clipper". Artist Simon has also signed at bottom left, with LE numbering "56/444", corresponding to his famous 1941 record hit streak.
