Golden Gate Ruth Part Three! On the heels of our April and August 2022 sales, an incredible follow-up is available with the offered 1917 E135 Collins-McCarthy #147 Babe Ruth. For several decades our consignor toted their father’s vintage baseball card collection around the country. Having been raised in San Francisco during the 1910s-1920s, the original owner collected several California produced cards including Obaks, Monos, Pacific Coast Biscuits, Zeenuts and Collins-McCarthy singles. Over the past century a hoard of these cards has rested in a humble shoebox amidst other family heirlooms. In January 2022, while our consignor was searching through long forgotten belongings, the shoebox was (re) discovered and Huggins & Scott Auctions was contacted.
Graded Poor 1 by PSA with an (mc) qualifier. Only 17 total copies of the offered 1917 E135 Collins-McCarthy #147 Babe Ruth have been judged by the authenticator.
