Though the New York Knicks dressed five future Hall of Famers for the 1972 NBA finals, they could little to slow down the Los Angeles Lakers, and their mighty tandem of Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West. The Knicks managed a win in a game one, but the Lakers took the next four, to win their first championship since relocating from Minneapolis. Along the way, the 1971-72 Lakers set a record for season wins with 69, and they also enjoyed a 33-game win streak, which still stands as the high mark for NBA play.
