Calling Elvis Presley a sensation, is like calling computers useful. Sure there were other performers on the 1950s scene with greater talent such as Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly, but when Elvis shook his pelvis, crowds went wild, TV producers pulled their hair out, ratings skyrocketed and money poured in like a tidal wave. While Presley's gyrations kept the cameramen on their toes, they were also the driving force that brought Rock 'n Roll into the main stream. Presley's meteoric rise is nicely chronicled with this 1956 Topps "Elvis" complete set of (66) cards. This high quality set of vintage non-sport cards is fairly well matched in appearance, with a condition range of (80% EX-MT to NM-MT, 20% VG to EX). The obverse photos of this set go through stage performances, behind the scenes looks and shots from Elvis' first film "Love Me Tender", while the reverses feature related text.
