Performing in the sizable shadow cast by the New York Yankees, the Detroit Tigers managed four American League pennants and two World Series championships during the 1930s and 1940s. These (2) baseballs are autographed by Briggs Stadium installments from those memorable decades. Includes:

 

1934 American League Champion Detroit Tigers Team-Signed Ball: a medium-toned OAL Harridge ball with a series of surface abrasions and sections of period shellac. Steel tip fountain pen signatures range from (“8”) to (“5”) in terms of strength and clarity. Includes: Sweet Spot: Cochrane (“6” strength) and Greenberg (“5-6” strength); North Panel: Bridges, Fischer (d.1963), Clifton, Auker, Schuble and White; South Panel: Fox (d.1966), Marberry, Rowe (d.1960), Hogsett, Hamlin and Owen; West Panel: Rogell, Gehringer (“5” strength), Hayworth, Goslin (“6-7” strength) and unidentified; East Panel: Baker (coach), Doljack, Crowder, Walker and York.

 

1941 Detroit Tigers Team-Signed Ball: an off-white unofficial ball signed in black-ink steel tip fountain pen (average “5-6” strength) by: Sweet Spot: Greenberg (“4” strength) and Tebbetts; North Panel: York; South Panel: Zeller (General Manager), McCosky, Rowe, Tyson (announcer) and N. Harris; East Panel: O’Neill (coach) and Gehringer (“4” strength).
