Cruise the collecting highway in style with this vintage scale model car kit. Imported by Tyco, this “Rolls Royce Phantom II Sedanca Coupe 1932” was manufactured by the Pocher d’Italia company in 1972. This famed producer was greatly celebrated by collectors worldwide for its incredibly detailed scale model kits. Noted in four languages on one of the box lid side panels is the description “Extremely Detailed Model Scale 1/8”. This unused kit remains sealed in its original 27x16x5 factory box.

The box lid is removable; however, the contents compartment is sealed across the middle and ends with orange tape. Two publications are housed under the lid and above the sealed section, with a Pocher catalog and an instructions manual. These publications show only slight traces of wear. The box lid is bright and glossy with vivid colors, though light traces of wear are noted along the bottom edges. One side panel shows some light soiling and there are some small remnants of a yellow sticker on the lid at the lower left corner. The sealed contents are presumed to be in mint state and judging by the weight of more than 10 pounds, there must be a lot of parts enclosed.

Period advertisements indicate this piece originally sold for $200, a significant figure for the times and the original owner states he purchased this high quality kit as a teenager and stowed it away for 45 years, making this new to the market model a great find.
