This 1966 Green Bay Packers team-signed football features (25+) signatures of these Super Bowl 1 Champions. The Spalding Triple Lined 329 sphere is penned throughout in black ink with the majority of the signatures averaging (“6-7”) execution. Although the pigskin does not hold air and a handful of signatures have faded, the majority of the scripts are instantly readable. Highlights include Adderley (“6-7”), Gregg (“6”) H. Jordan (“7”), Lombardi (“6”), Nitschke (“7”) and Starr (“8”). Full photo LOA from JSA. More on our website.
Full list of signatures is: Adderley, Aldridge, B. Anderson, D. Anderson, Bengston (coach), Burns (coach), Caffey, Chandler, Dale, Dowler, Fleming, Gregg, Jeter, H. Jordan, Kramer, Lombardi, Long, Nitschke, Pitts, D. Robinson, Schmidt, Schnelker (coach), Starr, Thurston, Wright
There is a neat story behind the acquisition of this football. Super Bowl 1 was played at the LA Coliseum on January 15, 1967. The Packers stayed at the Santa Barbara Inn in Santa Barbara, CA and practiced at UC Santa Barbara's field for the game. Our consignor's father (Alex Shustin) and his wife owned the Santa Barbara Inn and this ball was given to Alex's daughter as a "thank you". The family has provided an image of a photo (not included with the lot) of Lombardi and his wife with Alex at the Santa Barbara Inn.
