Dubbed “Junior” and (fittingly) “The Natural,” Ken Griffey, Jr. continued his family’s “Big Red Machine” heritage after having established himself in the Great Northwest. This Cincinnati Reds alternate jersey was issued to Griffey during his tenure in the Queen City. The red knit button-down garment features twill identifiers, proper “Russell Athletic” tagging and was worn by Griffey during the 2005 and/or 2006 seasons. All original and unaltered, the jersey shows light wear. More on our website.

The red knit button-down garment features the club’s wishbone-style “C” logo sewn to the left breast in white-on-black twill, “30” sewn to the back and right breast in white-on-red-on-black layered twill and “GRIFFEY” arched atop the back number in like fashion. Black-and-white piping lines the collar, button path and sleeve endings, a Reds team logo patch is sewn to the left sleeve and an MLB silhouette logo (in Reds team colors) is sewn atop the back. On the tapered left front tail, a “Russell Athletic” label is accompanied by flap tags the respectively denote “+2” Extra Length” and size “46.” Already a member of the 500 Home Run Club at the time of this jersey’s issue, Griffey added 62 of his 630 career home runs during the above-reference period.
