Spared from “The House That Ruth Built,” this original Yankee Stadium seat was once a fixture in the Bronx edifice that was home to Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle and 20 world championship rosters before being temporarily closed and renovated after the 1973 season. Measuring 27-1/4”-wide and 31-1/4”-tall, the hinged wooden seat and three-panel backrest are secured within a four-platform iron frame shaped to form armrests. The original stenciled “12” seat number remains on the top backrest panel.

The wooden components are painted blue and show expected chips from stadium wear and weather. There is rust about the metallic framework. A metal plate is affixed to the middle backrest panel with an engraved legend reading: "Yankee Stadium - The House That Ruth Built - April 18, 1923."

Note: the item is currently stored at a Florida location. Due to the size/weight of this item, a shipping surcharge will apply.
