Gibbs-Connor’s 1950s series of ceramic sports figures are collectible treasures you can bank on. Presented are (3) Cleveland Indians pieces: 1954 “Chief Wahoo 111 Wins” bank: standing nearly 7” tall on a 5 x 2-3/4” green base, the bat wielding mascot is flanked by a baseball featuring a coin slot on top and raised notations of “54” and “111” facing front. This remarkable figure show abundant original gloss and presents in high grade with no discernible signs of wear. A hole atop the Chief’s head was intended to hold a feather which is not included. The back of the green base is etched with “© CBC Gibbs-Connor & CO”; 1951 stamp dispenser and toothpick holder: this 1951 pairing includes “Chief Wahoo” hollowed heads designed as a toothpick holder and stamp dispenser (the latter item has a horizontal opening between the mascot’s teeth to dispense a roll of stamps). Both present in excellent condition equal to or better than the above described bank. Also present are accompanying lids and feathers for each piece. The holes atop the heads were crafted by the factory to facilitate insertion of the included feathers. Etched on the bottom of each base is "G-C & Co '51'."
