Coinciding with the boom of ESPN and its comprehensive coverage, these (5) warm-up jerseys were donned by Junior Circuit stars. The all-original mesh garments consistently show solid game wear and include: 1990 California Angles: (Bob McClure); 1987-1992 Minnesota Twins: worn by either Rick Rennick or Chili Davis; 1994-1996 California Angles: (Mark Langston); 1994-1999 Detroit Tigers: worn by either Cecil Fielder, Doug Bochtler or Dave Borkowski; 2003 Toronto Blue Jays: (Roy Halladay). Bob McClure 1990 California Angles Game-Worn Road Jersey: a white mesh button-down garment with “Angels” arched across the chest in red-on-blue twill and “33” sewn to the back and left front in like fashion. Blue-and-red striped stretch ribbed knit lines the collar and sleeve endings, while the tapered left front tail is home to a “Rawlings” size “46” label and a flap tag denoting “SET 1 1990.” On the left sleeve, an American flag patch is of unknown origin and was likely applied at a later date.
1987-1992 Minnesota Twins Game-Worn Warm-Up Jersey: a blue mesh pullover garment with “Twins” sewn across the chest in red-on-white twill and “44” sewn to the back in like fashion. Within the left front tail, a “Rawlings” size “46” label has a handwritten “R.” The combination of the tagging style and number “44” suggest wear by either third base coach Rick Renick (1987-1990) or Chili Davis (1991-1992).
Mark Langston 1994-1996 California Angles Game-Worn Warm-Up Jersey: a blue mesh button-down garment with a “CA” logo (complete with halo) sewn to the left breast in red-on-white twill. Red piping lines the sleeve endings, while the tapered left front tail is home to a “Majestic” label. Within the collar, a “Majestic” label is accompanied by a size “46” flap tag.
1994-1999 Detroit Tigers Game-Worn Warm-Up Jersey: a blue mesh button-down garment with the club’s olde English “D” logo sewn to the left breast in white twill (an orange, white and blue embroidered tiger accompanies). On the back, “45” is sewn in orange-on-white twill. Orange-white-and-blue stretch ribbed knit lines the shoulders. On the left front tail, a “Majestic” label is accompanied by a size “52” flap tag. The style and uniform number suggest wear by either Cecil Fielder (19941996), Doug Bochtler (1998) or Dave Borkowski (1999).
Roy Halladay 2003 Toronto Blue Jays Game-Worn Warm-Up Jersey: a blue mesh pullover garment with a two-button collar, a team logo embroidered to the left breast and an MLB silhouette logo sewn atop the back. Halladay’s number “32” is sewn to the back in red-on-white twill with blue piping accenting the center of the numerals. On the left front tail, a “Majestic” label is accompanied by a size “52” flap tag. Halladay won the Cy Young Award that year.
