An unsung fixture on Baltimore Colts teams that included two Super Bowl installments, former offensive lineman Glenn Ressler embodied the spirit of the town’s blue collar work ethic and competitive fire. This Colts road jersey was worn and signed by Ressler in the early-1970s. The white durene pullover garment features “62” sewn to the front, back and sleeves in blue twill. Just below the front number, Ressler has signed in black marker (“9” strength) and inscribed “#62.” The vented left front tail is home to a “Sand-Knit” size “50” label and a Baltimore Colts exclusivity tag. Outstanding use is evident, with multiple team repairs. A tried and true relic from the days of “Johnny U,” the NFL’s first marching band and unrivaled team camaraderie. Also included is a game-worn sidelines sweatshirt. Full photo LOA from Dave Miedema.
Also included is a sweatshirt worn during the club’s final years in Baltimore. The gray cotton zippered garment features “BALTIMORE COLTS” displayed on the back in blue appliqué. Blue and gray striped stretch ribbed knit lines the waistline and sleeve endings. Within the drawstring-lined hood, a “Champion” size “XL” label has a vintage handwritten notation of “86,” suggesting wear by former tight end Reese McCall (1978-1982). Heavy wear is evident with faint stains and pilling throughout.
Note: the Dave Miedema LOA is for the Ressler jersey only.
