Walter (Hoot) Evers was a two-time All-Star who concluded his career with the fledgling Baltimore Orioles of the American League. The fan favorite is portrayed on this exceedingly scarce 1955 Esskay Meats complete box. Measuring nearly 8x7, this bright orange single-card container has withstood the decades in fine condition. Despite a combination of peripheral and interior creasing to the paneling, the overall appearance of this regional relic is not seriously compromised. Three tabs have sustained varying degrees of creasing and partial separation but remain attached. One of the tabs is missing. Typical hot dog grease markings or impressions are not evident upon close scrutiny. The equipment-themed edging and colorful coupon proudly frames the attractive portrait. Recently discovered in a Baltimore row house of a former Esskay employee.
