Overlooked for impressive diamond feats, (3) unsung heroes have decorated these checks with their coveted autographs. Scriptings show (“9”) quality and include: Curt Flood: a 1996 voucher signed by the man who paved the way for free agency (PSA/DNA “Authentic”); Frank Schellenback: a 1943 voucher signed in green ink by the 1919 Chicago White Sox hurler who went on to 295 spitball-aided Pacific Coast League wins (SGC cert/sticker); Joe Wood: a 1965 check signed by the former member of both Boston and Cleveland World Series winners.
Note: the checks all have normal cancellation stampings and/or hole punchings, none of which affect the bold autographs.
The Flood and Wood signatures are also covered by an auction LOA from JSA.
