Specializing in the use of color photography, Sport magazine had the advantages of visual appeal and pre-dating rival Sports Illustrated by eight years. While the monthly Sport was to quickly take a back seat to the weekly SI in terms of circulation and popularity, it managed a storied run of more than half a century. These (314) editions comprise a near run of the publication’s 1946 through 1976 issues. With covers/pages intact on the vast majority, these magazines present beautifully and showcase gripping front-cover images of some of the sporting world’s most iconic heroes.
